What version of Adobe Illustrator does Color Referee
support?
Adobe Illustrator CS and higher.
Color Referee labels are created outside the
"Artboard"; how do I print them without changing
the Artboard size?
While you're in the Print dialog box; look
for the Option area called "Setup" (click
that name); now look for the option called "Crop
Artwork To:", change that to "Artboard Bounding
Box", you can then print your callouts.
What is Priority support?
By paying for Priority Support you receive:
- 12 months of technical product support, where you
will be placed at the top of our
support queue for answering questions.
- Beta preview copies of all releases.
- ALL upgrades free of charge, including full version
upgrades for 12 months.
What platform do you support?
Macintosh OSX and Windows XP.
If I’m a student or teacher how do I purchase
the education edition?
You must first fax your phone#, student ID and class
schedule to 925-871-4090 and we will contact you to
process your order.
Do you have more software titles?
We are currently working on new software titles, please
check back frequently.
Why does my license come up as xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-1234
We only show you the last four digits of your license
to assist your IT dept.
I lost my license number, what should I do?

Specific Adobe Illustrator and Color Referee Questions
When a callout is created it’s located
way off the page, what happened?
You need to reset the ruler origin point. Make sure
your rulers are showing. Click on the point where the
rules meet in the upper left corner. Double click that
area: now when you create a callout it will be located
adjacent to the artboard.
I am having trouble calling-out an object ..
any ideas?
Make sure the object is not locked.
Check your AI General preference and make sure “Object
Selection by Path Only” is NOT checked.

What are the limits of the demo version?
The demo version of Color Referee has all the features
of our licensed version, but it will
only give three callouts for each session that you launch
Adobe Illustrator.
Why are “Blends” labeled as “Symbol
Plug-in Art”
This is a known issue as Adobe refers to a blend object
as Symbol Plug-in Art. We are working with Adobe and
this should be resolved soon so please stay tuned for
updates.
Why is a “Graphic Style” not called-out
correctly?
A Graphic Style is a script running within illustrator
that creates different objects to achieve a desired
effect. To read the values just select the Object Menu
> Expand Appearance; you now will be able to read
each object that created the graphic style.
Why are Brushes not called-out correctly?
This is a known issue and we are working with Adobe
to resolve this, we expect a fix in our next update,
so please stay tuned.
